Elder Sifuentes,Aboul Fazl, Elder Kaanapu |
Last week we were transferred into a new area, and we had information
that someone was being baptized on Saturday! We had to scramble around to
prepare the baptism program, actually meet the guy and arrange everything
with a Ward and members that we had never met before which was a bit of a challenge.
I'll tell you the story of this man though, his name is Aboul Fazl and he
lives with his close friend Mirrhossein. They're both from the country of Iran
and were both Muslim by birth but they immigrated to Australia for
freedom. Mirrhossein was contacted by missionaries and was baptized 3yrs.
ago and that he was sharing the gospel with Aboul Fazl in the Persian
language because he doesn't speak English very well. As it turned out though,
Aboul Fazl moved to Sydney for a while and missionaries lost contact with him,
until just recently when he returned and told Mirrhossein that he wanted to
have a new life and be baptized! They both approached the missionaries before
us and asked them to baptize Aboul Fazl, they prepared him but unfortunately
they were both transferred so when we came in we made it a top priority to
visit him before his baptism. As we talked with them both, the spirit was very
strong and witnessed to my companion and I that he was indeed ready. You could
just tell from this mans countenance that he had repented of his sins and
desired to follow Jesus Christ. After his baptism I was talking with him and
asked him how he felt, he simply looked at me, pointed to heaven and said
that he was happy. Also a couple tears of joy were there as well. I'm astounded
every day at the lords hand in preparing people to receive his gospel. I never
thought that I would have the opportunity to see someone from a hard country
like Iran join the fold of God in my day, but it happened and I am a witness
that God does love all of his children and invites ALL of them to come unto
Christ. This is my miracle of the week! have a great week everybody! Love Elder Kaanapu
Mathew 28:19 "Go ye therefore and teach ALL nations
baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy
ghost."
