Man this week was really good! We found A lot of new people
that we're gonna follow up with to teach and everything is going really well.
Something that I've really learned to appreciate more and more everyday is just
the love of members that we have in our ward. They seriously love us
missionaries soooo much it's a huge blessing. In fact one of our members is
preparing for his mission so we've been taking him out with us and he's just a
fire ball. Like He is ready to go and I'm happy for him. The more you prepare
the less you have to worry about. I've also actually really grown to love
personal and companionship study. I love learning from the scriptures every
morning and I love sharing insights and PREPARING lessons with my companion
every day.
There's a really interesting quote from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland he
says "you will make or break your mission by what you do between the
hours of 6:30 and 10:00" Basically pointing out that if you fail to plan
you plan to fail and that is SO true in the mission field. Preparing and
especially Planning are so crucial and something that really got me while
sitting in Zone conference last week was the fact that Jesus Christ was a
master Planner. How else can he place specific people where he knows of
specific opportunities are given whether they be missionaries, members or
non-members. That doesn't mean our lives are planned out for us, but what
that does mean is that it puts extra emphasis on our choices. Because the lord
prepares us and others to receive the gospel and to deepen our faith based on his
PLANNED opportunities for us. But what we must do is choose to follow the
promptings and receive the promised blessings. By understanding this simple concept
of planning and preparing, my mind has pretty much exploded to a deeper
understanding of the gospel and of course the plan of salvation. I've gained
such a greater Love for the work and for trying my best to find those that are
ready to receive the gospel. I know that as we follow through with the lords
commandments he will bless us and we will be able to bless others. Also we
found a new investigator and he's been reading the Book of Mormon so we're sooo
happy! Our work here in Tarneit is improving and I thank the lord every day for
it. Have a good week everyone! Love, Elder Kaanapu D&C 82:10
