Last week was a very special week for me, I had some
incredible opportunities that I will probably never have again and I learned
things about the gospel and myself that I will forever be grateful for.
On Saturday we had a mission conference with all the missionaries. Presiding at
our meetings was an Apostle of the Lord, Elder Bednar. We spent 3 hours
listening to him and the spirit revealed to us truths of the gospel with much
more clarity then I've ever had before. We also got an opportunity to ask him
questions and he provided inspired answers and for me I just learned sooooooo
much. Some things that he said still ring in my mind.
1. Record things you learn
on small plates not on large plates - meaning, Nephi wrote word for word a
history of the people on large plates but he wrote spiritual experiences and revelations
on small plates.
2. Don't listen to me (Elder Bednar) listen to the Holy Ghost
3. Remember
that questions precede revelations. I wish I could tell you all of
the things I wrote down but these 3 points stick out in my mind and they are so
true and they can also go reeeaaallllyy deep. At the end of the meeting I knew
and I will forever know that our church is being led by servants truely chosen,
ordained and set apart with power and authority given to them by God. And it is
not because flesh and blood hat revealed it unto me, but rather my Father in Heaven ( Mathew 16:17) I felt a reassurance from the Holy Ghost with great
power that everything that Elder Bednar said was true.
I've also gained this
new conviction to increase the effectiveness of my studies to be able to gain
more knowledge and understanding. The missionary work in our area has been
going really well. We're finding people everyday that we get to uplift and
inspire by the Holy Ghost. I know the Church is true and that we have 15 Prophets, Seers and Revelators ordained with the keys we need to be saved on
earth. Honestly it just shows how much Heavenly Father really loves us :) Have
a great week! Love you all! Elder Kaanapu - 2 Nephi 32:3-5
