With Faith - Anything Can Be Accomplished

Stephanie Age 8

Hey everyone! Last week was a really good week! Elder Gines and I had our first baptism! WOOOOHOOOO, It was a long road with Stephanie but she was able to get baptized. She's 8 years old but her mom is inactive (pretty much the whole family) and she asked us to teach her daughter all the missionary lessons, and this was actually before I came out so Elder Gines has been working with her for AGES, BUT we managed to teach her everything and she is now baptized. PLUS her mom is coming back to church! Two huge miracles.

Some really good things are happening in the Patterson Lakes area. We're getting some really interesting new investigators that I just know have been prepared by the Lord. I'm feeling more confident in going out and doing the Lord's work and as of right now I don't wanna be anywhere else.

I'm also nearing the end of my training, and while I was on exchanges with one of the Zone Leaders we had an interesting exchange review. He told me that my trainer Elder Gines will probably be transferred out of the area (because he's been here for over 7 months) and he feels that I'll actually probably end up training a new missionary really soon. To be honest, I was actually kind of scared at that because even though I'm getting more used to it, I'm just not sure if I'd be ready to train and take over an area at the same time. But then right after that thought entered into my mind I reflected on numerous examples of young people called to do the lords work, Moroni led an army at age 16, Joseph Smith was called to the work at age 14 and heaps of missionaries in the old days sometimes got called at age 15 to serve in far away places. Then another promise and scripture came to my mind, 1 Nephi 3:7 "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them". Ever since remembering this scripture I've tried my best to push harder with more everlasting faith, faith that Heavenly Father will provide a way. And even if I was asked to train a new missionary and take over an area or even be a Mission Leader - I know that the Lord will provide a way for me to accomplish it. Because I am a servant in HIS work. And I know that he will provide a way for you as well, all we must do is press forward in faith. I love all of you so much! have a great week! Elder Kaanapu
