Leadership is not a cloak of comfort, but a robe of responsibility

This past week was really intense, I felt impressed to go on a two day exchange with a certain Elder in my district, which is really different - it doesn't go like that usually but I did it anyway. When the exchange happened immediately many problems started coming up in which I had no idea how to handle it initially. This Elder and I had some very long talks about what he was doing, some very difficult things came about because of it, even such that I had to get the Mission President involved. At the end of it though, a miracle did come about, this Elder hugged me and thanked me for what I had helped him to realize.

I am beginning to understand that leadership and or just being a Christ like disciple isn't very easy, I don't think it's supposed to be. But in the end it will always work out for our good, and the blessings will flow. I learned that from Jesus Christ, reading about him and studying what he did has inspired me to follow more closely his example of loving leadership. He loved his disciples and the people, but he never condoned their sins, and sought ways to express his love by correcting the Apostles. Many times it was Peter whom he corrected, but that's just because Christ needed to groom him for a high place in his kingdom. In fact it was because of Christ correcting Peter, and Peter being humble, that he did become the rock that Christ promised him he would become. I love what serving a mission has taught me, I love the Lord because of his correction for me and what he has inspired me with. This week we should be seeing some miracles with people in our area, so I am excited!!
